Bernese mountain dog is ideal for people who are even minded and it is not certainly for people who are narrow-minded. BMD is big, well-balanced, strong boned, long hair and wonderful patter with three colour pattern that is his typical feature. Most of them love water and are good swimmers. Bathing is not as neccesarry for this dog as regular combing of dog's coat.

BMD loves long walks where he has plenty of freedom and could run around without a leash and a muzzle. It is really important to teach BMD how to behave and how to listen to different orders. That is why it is very helpful to attend different classes where he learns to a proper beaviour. He loves it and appreciates the attention that he gets from his owner.

Our dogs are most of the time completely free running around our property and we take them two times a day for about 5 km walk. They accompany us regularly when we go for shopping or when we visit our friends. Since they were three months old, we have attended with them training classes at least two times a week until they were at leat one year and half old.
